Movies, Merge, and Massachusetts!

I watched three movies already this weekend! The first two were The Notebook(so sad!) and Hitch(so funny!). I watched these two with my mom on Friday. We didn't get started on time, so we were up till about 12:30 a.m., but it was a lot of fun! Then last night, the whole family gathered to watch Facing the Giants. My Aunt Debby recommended this one and it was really good! It would make a great youth group movie or something like that. Anyway, because I spent so much time with these movies, I have a little extra homework reading to do today. Oh well - it was worth it!

Yesterday afternoon, my dad (as Missions Committee chair at church) and I spent a few hours at church at a meeting for the upcoming missions trip. Some members of Elim Covenant Church in Moline and Alex from Merge Ministries all came over to discuss some of the details of the trip. Our church has been teaming up with Elim for the past three years on our mission trips to Monterrey, Mexico. Alex is from Merge Ministries, an organization that helps US churches to connect with others in the countries where they are planning mission trips to. He's been the main Merge guy for this trip for a few years now, so there was plenty of teasing between him and some of the Elim members! I was there to just sit in on some of the logistics for getting there. I'll be flying with our missions team to Monterrey where I'll eventually meet up with the Clausons to stay for a few more weeks. It's hard to imagine that my trip is coming up in so little time!

I can't believe it's March already!!! As usual, the new year is flying by. Right before Deep Freeze in February, my beloved cousin Brittany came to visit! It was so good to visit with her, even if it was cut short by the retreat. She moved to Northampton, Mass., with her husband Mark in January, so every visit counts more and more!

"Have a good morning, and in case I don't see ya', good afternoon, good evening and good night!" ~The Truman Show (another funny movie I like!)
